Bedford Park: Uber Driver Robbed Under Threat of Being Shot

The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance identifying the individual who appears in the attached surveillance video and photo, who is sought in connection with a gun point robbery in the 52nd precinct.

 

On Friday, Nov 27, 2020, at around 3.40 a.m., a 63-year-old male Uber driver was in front of 364 East 197th Street in Bedford Park waiting for a passenger when an unidentified man approached the driver’s side window [of the vehicle] and simulated a firearm that was covered in a dark bag.

 

The suspect pressed the apparent firearm against the victim’s chest and forcibly removed the victim from the vehicle. He then fled the scene in the victim’s gray 2011 Honda CRV with registered plate #T623343C in a northbound direction on Decatur Avenue. The victim’s cellphones and wallet were inside the vehicle. There were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.

 

The suspect is described as a light-skinned man in his mid-20s, last seen wearing a black hoodie, black pants, black sneakers, black gloves, a red hat, light-colored mask and was carrying a red and black, large travel bag.

 

Surveillance video and a photo of the suspect are attached and available at the NYPD. They were obtained from the vicinity of 363 East 197th Street prior to the incident.
