UPDATE Bedford Park: Three Minor Injuries Incurred during Residential Fire on Creston Avenue

Three people suffered minor injuries following a residential fire in Bedford Park on Monday evening, FDNY officials said. Fire department officials said they were alerted on Monday, July 15, at 7.36 p.m. for a report of a fire at 2767 Creston Avenue between East 196th Street and East 197th Street.

 

Upon arrival, they found that the fire was on the top floor of a two-story private dwelling and was extending to an exposed second building. They said there was “heavy clutter” inside the affected fire building. They said 25 units comprising 106 fire and EMS personnel responded to the incident.

They said one firefighter incurred a minor injury as did two civilans.  They said the fire was brought under control at 8.52 p.m. and is under investigation by FDNY fire marshals.

 

We reached out to the Red Cross for details of any displaced families and a representative said, “After the fire on Creston Ave in the Bronx the Red Cross registered two households (nine adults) for emergency assistance, including emergency financial assistance. At the scene our response team also provided water, snacks, clothing and toiletries.”

Red Cross officials have advised that if any residents have not connected already with Red Cross responders on site, they should call 877-RedCross or 1-877-733-2767 for assistance.
