Bedford Park: Third-Story Fire at 3184 Villa Avenue Under Control

Twelve units, comprising 60 firefighters responded to a fire at 3184 Villa Avenue in Bedford Park on Monday evening, Sept. 19.

 

The department issued a call for “all hands” to respond to a fire which broke out on the 3rd floor of the 4-story, multiple, residential dwelling at 6.17 p.m.

Norwood News contacted the department for details of any injuries as well as the cause of the fire. A spokesperson responded, providing the main details of the incident and said the fire was brought under control at 6.39 p.m.

 

No injuries were reported, and we understand the cause is still under investigation.

In a video posted to the Citizens’ App, a few residents can be heard questioning whether air conditioning units protruding from some of the windows on the higher floors caused a hazard by blocking the escape route on the exterior fire escape.
