The NYPD is asking the public for help identifying the person seen in the attached photo who department officials say is sought in connection with an attempted robbery that occurred in transit on a northbound 4 train.
Police said that on Thursday, June 22, at around 6.15 a.m., a 27-year-old male victim was on a moving northbound 4 train when he was approached by another passenger who snatched his cellphone. They said that as the train entered the Bedford Park Boulevard – Lehman College subway station, both the victim and the phone snatcher exited the train.
They said that while on the northbound platform, the victim attempted to regain possession of his cellphone, resulting in a physical struggle. Police said the victim was able to recover his phone but fell and hit his head as a result of the struggle. They said the phone snatcher fled the location out of the station in an unknown direction, and the victim went, by private means, to Montefiore Medical Center in stable condition for treatment.
