Residents of Bedford Park queried why a helicopter was seen hovering over the vicinity of Lehman College and the Jerome Park Reservoir on Tuesday, Jan. 23.
One resident said the helicopter had been seen hovering over the area for about 30 minutes at around 3.23 p.m. A member of the Norwood News team later visited the area but reported that all was quiet at that stage.
A video of the chopper was posted to the Citizen’s App at around 3 p.m. with a request for information from the public as to the reason for the aircraft in the area.
We followed up with the NYPD who said they could not share any information regarding the helicopter sighting “at this time.” We asked if they could confirm if it was a police aircraft and they said they could not.
We will share any updates we receive on the matter.
