Police are searching for a person who carried out an armed robbery of a UPS delivery worker in Bedford Park on Saturday, Dec. 16.
An NYPD spokesperson said a 19-year-old woman reported to police that on Saturday, Dec. 16, at around noon, at the intersection of Valentine Avenue and East 198th Street, a person displayed a gun and forcibly stole a package from her while she was making a delivery.
“The individual then fled the location in a gray BMW X5,” the spokesperson said. “No injuries occurred as a result of this incident. There is no arrest and the investigation remains ongoing.”
We asked the NYPD if they can confirm if the delivery was being made to a store or to a residential building and will update this story upon receipt of more information.
We spoke to some passersby and residents in the neighborhood on Saturday afternoon, including a male employee working in a corner store (pictured) at the location, but they either didn’t see anything or declined to be interviewed.
We also tried to speak to some residents at 2840 Valentine Avenue, located near the incident location but nobody answered.
