We spoke to one male resident of the building who was standing outside with some others later on Saturday and asked if he knew what happened. A removal van was seen nearby as furniture was being moved out of the building. He replied, “There was a fire, nobody was hurt, that’s it.”

As reported, two people were killed after a fire engulfed a Buddhist temple on Anthony Avenue in Fordham Heights on Wednesday, Feb. 12, and fire officials said their rescue efforts were hampered by a car parked in front of a fire hydrant across the street from the blaze.
