Bedford Park: Man Sought following Robbery with Simulated Gun at Gas Station Store

The NYPD is appealing to the public for help identifying the person seen in the attached video and photo who department officials say is sought in connection to a robbery that occurred in Bedford Park.

 

Police said that on Tuesday, June 6, at around 1.50 a.m., a man entered a gas station located at 2947 Jerome Avenue and struck a store employee in the head with a can, simulated a gun and stole a sum of money from the register. “The individual fled southbound on Jerome Avenue,” an NYPD spokesperson said, adding that the victim did not require medical attention as a result of the incident.

 

Police said the person sought was described as male, has a medium complexion, and was last seen wearing a black jacket, green camouflage pants, and a backpack.

 

Last month on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 14, Norwood News received a report of a possible fire in the vicinity of the same area from local resident and Norwood News photographer, Miriam Quiñones, who said at the time she could smell smoke from her nearby home. Indeed, smoke was seen on a building housing Verizon, located at 2885 Jerome Avenue which is located near the referenced gas station at 2947 Jerome Avenue.

The FDNY press team said they could not find any record of a reported fire at the location.
