The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help locating the person seen in the attached photo who they say is sought in connection to an armed robbery that occurred in Bedford Park.
Police said that on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at around 3.17 a.m., the person entered 2801 Jerome Avenue and engaged in conversation with the victim, a 44-year-old male employee.
“The individual produced a firearm and forcibly removed $55 from the victim,” a police spokesperson said. “The individual then struck the victim with his helmet multiple times in the face and body.”
Police said the gunman was last seen fleeing southbound on Jerome Avenue. They said the victim suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by EMS. Norwood News has contacted EMS for details of the victim’s injuries and will update this story upon receipt of same.
Police said the assailant is described as male, is around 5 feet, 8 inches tall, has a medium complexion and a medium build. They said he was last seen wearing a black helmet, a black, hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and black sneakers.
According to Google Maps, the address of the robbery location appears to indicate a location on the subway train tracks located adjacent to Jerome Avenue, south of Bedford Park Boulevard, and according to City records, is owned by The City of New York.
