A 29-year-old was stabbed in Bedford Park over the weekend, police said. He remains in stable condition.

On Saturday, Dec. 3, at around 2.25 a.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding an assault in the vicinity of Valentine Avenue and East 198th Street.

Upon arrival officers were informed an unidentified person entered a home and stabbed a 29-year-old man after a physical altercation. “The subject fled the location to parts unknown,” police said. “EMS transported the victim St. Barnabas Medical Center in stable condition. There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing,” police added.

As reported, police said there was a “commotion” involving a group of armed people in the area close to this incident at Grand Concourse and East 199th Street later in the day at around 5.50 p.m., though they did not say if the two incidents were in any way related.
