An affordable housing lottery has launched for units at 186 East 205th Street, an eight-story residential building in the Bedford Park section of the Bronx, as reported by YIMBY.
Designed by Badaly Architects, and developed by Franco Sukai, the 42,524-square-foot structure yields 62 residential units. Available on NYC Housing Connect, NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development’s housing portal, are 19 units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $41,143 to $167,570.
Residents will have access to a shared laundry room and outdoor green spaces. Units include name-brand appliances and finishes, air conditioning, energy-efficient appliances, and hardwood floors.
At 130 percent of the AMI, there are five studios with a monthly rental payment of $1,200 for incomes ranging from $41,143 to $124,150, nine one-bedroom units with a monthly rental payment of $1,600 for incomes ranging from $54,858 to $139,620, and five two-bedroom units with a monthly rental payment of $1,950 for incomes ranging from $66,858 to $167,570.
Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than Oct. 20, 2021.

The building is anticipated to receive a tax exemption through the 421a tax incentive program of the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development.
