A civilian who suffered a burn injury at a Bedford Park home on Thursday morning is expected to survive, emergency services said.

The FDNY said the department received a call for a report of a major burn at 7.20 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17, at 2857 Valentine Avenue between East 198th Street and East 199th Street. Department officials said there was no fire at the scene.

“One civilian with non-life threatening injuries was transported to Jacobi Hospital,” an FDNY spokesperson said. Their condition and description was unknown. We asked the FDNY what was the cause of the burn but did not receive an immediate response. We will share any additional updates we receive.
