The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying and locating the person seen in the attached video and photo who department officials say is sought in connection to a robbery that occurred in Bedford Park.
Police said that on Thursday, May 18, at around 2.56 p.m. the victim, a 15-year-old girl, was standing on the southbound platform of the Bedford Park Boulevard / Lehman College subway station when she was approached by a person unknown to her. They said the suspect allegedly snatched the victim’s phone from her hands and fled the station to parts unknown. They said the victim was not physically injured as a result of the incident.
A police spokesperson said the suspect is described as male, is estimated to be between 18 and 20 years old, has a light complexion, is estimated to be between 5 feet, 7 inches and 5 feet, 8 inches tall, and has a slim build. “He was last seen wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and black and white sneakers,” the spokesperson said. “He was last seen carrying a black fanny pack.”
