An SUV flipped upside down at 2763 Morris Avenue in Bedford Park in the early hours of Saturday morning when a 22-year-old male driver collided with three parked cars on the street, according to police.

An NYPD spokesperson explained the circumstances which led to the car overturning, saying, “On July 9, 2022, at approximately 00.32 hours, a 2007 Nissan SUV, operated by a 22-year-old male, was traveling northbound on Morris Avenue when the vehicle struck three parked and unattended vehicles (possibly due to driver distraction).”

In terms of reported injuries, the spokesperson added, “The driver complained of pain but refused medical attention at the scene.” There were no other reported injuries as a result of the collision.

Images and video of the SUV with its hazard lights flashing as it lay upside down on the street were posted online seemingly by local residents.

Norwood News previously reported on a collision that also took place in Bedford Park which left a car partially blocking the right lane of the Grand Concourse at Miriam Street in the middle of the day after the driver crashed into a tree and burst into flames on Saturday, April 30. The 25-year-old male driver’s infant son was a passenger in the vehicle at the time the accident occurred. The driver reportedly told police he had been distracted by a bug inside the car and lost control of the vehicle. A female passerby drove both victims to a nearby hospital for treatment.
