Allerton: Two-Car Crash Involving One Stolen Vehicle Sends Both Drivers to Jail

A wild and potentially deadly, two-vehicle crash that resulted in injury to one driver and at least one vehicle mounting a sidewalk in the Allerton section of The Bronx has resulted in the arrest of both involved drivers.

 

A shattered windshield of an Acura, driven by 18-year-old Rasgawn Lalor of Edenwald, was seen in the Allerton section of the Bronx on Thursday, January 27, 2022 after a two-car collision. Lalor was transported to Jacobi Hospital and was later arrested.

According to police, the crash was reported at 12:13 p.m. on Thursday, January 27, at the intersection of Astor Avenue and Laconia Avenue.

 

NYPD detective Annette Shelton told Norwood News, “It was discovered that an 18-year-old man was operating a 2020 Acura on Laconia Avenue when it collided with a 2021 Mercedes, operated by a 35-year-old male that was traveling westbound on Astor Avenue.”

Shelton continued, “The operator of the Mercedes fled on foot but returned to the scene and was arrested and charged. The 18-year-old male was removed to Jacobi Hospital and upon further investigation, it was determined that the vehicle was stolen; he was also arrested.”

Police officers from the 49th precinct promptly arrested Leroy Misir, 35, who resides on Edison Avenue and at a second address in Connecticut. He was charged with leaving the scene of an accident.

Meanwhile, Rasgawn Lalor, 18, of Palmer Avenue in Edenwald, was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and two counts of criminal possession of stolen property.
