An affordable housing lottery has launched for 35 newly constructed units at The Allerton housing complex, located at 2241 White Plains Road a/k/a 683 Thwaites Place, in the Allerton section of The Bronx, according to NYC Department of Housing, Preservation & Development (HPD).
According to HPD, applicants must meet the eligible income requirements of between $41,863 and $182,050 for the various available units.
At 70 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI), there is one studio with a monthly rent of $1,135 for incomes ranging from $41,863 to $74,760; two one-bedroom units with a monthly rent of $1,427 for incomes ranging from $52,286 to $84,070; and one two-bedroom unit with a monthly rent of $1,705 for incomes ranging from $62,915 to $100,870.
At 110 percent of the AMI, there are two studios with a monthly rent of $1,300 for incomes ranging from $47,520 to $117,480; 21 one-bedroom units with a monthly rent of $1,634 for incomes ranging from $59,383 to $132,110; seven two-bedroom units with a monthly rent of $2,054 for incomes ranging from $74,880 to $158,510; and one three-bedroom unit with a monthly rent of $2,366 for incomes ranging from $86,675 to $182,050.

According to information on NYC Housing Connect, the development is a 35,000 square-foot, 6-story, mixed-use affordable housing building for middle-income families with commercial and community facilities located on the ground floor.
Amenities include a 24-hour attended lobby; an on-site resident manager; security cameras; a rooftop terrace; a shared laundry room; high-end, stainless steel kitchen appliances; energy-efficient appliances; bike storage lockers; and general storage lockers for which additional fees apply.
The building is smoke-free, has an elevator and an accessible entrance, is near to public transportation, schools, restaurants and convenience stores. There is a “No Pets” policy (service pets are an exception). Tenants are responsible for electric bills, including electric stove.
The building is being constructed through HPD’s Neighborhood Construction Program. No deposits or application fees apply. For more information, visit NYC Housing Connect.
Five percentage of units are being set aside for those with mobility restrictions, two percent for those with vision/hearing disabilities, 5 percent of units will set aside for New York City employees, and preference for 50 percent of units will be given to community board residents.
The lottery ends in 59 days, on Sept. 10.
