UPDATE Wakefield: Mother and 8-Year-Old Son Found Deceased inside Home & Daughter, 4, Found Alive

A community has been left reeling in shock upon hearing that a 38-year-old mother and her 8-year-old son were found deceased inside their home in the Wakefield section of The Bronx. Police confirmed discovering the bodies inside the location, along with a 4-year-old girl who is alive. Neighbors said the little girl was the woman’s younger daughter and that she has a teenage sister.

 

A police spokesperson said that on Friday, April 18, at around 8.26 p.m., officers from the 47th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding an aided person at 683 East 231st street, located between White Plains Road and Carpenter Avenue.

“Upon arrival, officers found a 38-year-old female and an 8-year-old male unconscious and unresponsive inside that location,” a police spokesperson said. “EMS responded and transported the two individuals. They pronounced them deceased on scene. Upon further investigation, a four-year-old female was also present at the location.”

 

The spokesperson continued, “She was transported by EMS to Montefiore Medical Center Wakefield campus for further medical examination. She is stable at the location. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death for those individuals. There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.” More to follow.
