A 33-year-old man has died following a fatal shooting in the Pelham Parkway section of The Bronx.
Police said that on Sunday, Feb. 23, at around 7.54 p.m., officers from the 49th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding a person who had been shot in front of 2179 White Plains Road.
“Upon arrival, officers observed a 32-year-old male who sustained a gunshot wound to the back,” an NYPD spokesperson said. “He was transported by EMS to NYC Health+Hospitals/Jacobi in stable condition.”
Police said officers were later informed by hospital staff that a 33-year-old male who sustained a gunshot wound to the back at the same location and who was transported to NYC Health+Hospitals/Jacobi by private means, was later pronounced deceased.
Police said there are no arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing.
They said the deceased has been identified as Kemahni Smalls, 33, of Staten Island.
