71-Year-Old Woman Injured During Attempted Robbery

A 71-year-old woman sustained injuries during an attempted robbery on the outskirts of Laconia in The Bronx. The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance identifying the individual seen in the attached photo and video who is wanted for questioning regarding the incident which took place in the 47th precinct.

 

It was reported to police that on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 7 p.m., in front of 3453 Boston Road, the unidentified suspect approached the 71-year-old, pulled an unknown object from his pants pocket, and demanded that she give him cash. The suspect then forcibly pushed the victim to the ground. She began to yell for help, at which point the individual fled the location running southbound on Boston Road. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries to her left knee, shoulder and wrist, and received treatment at Montefiore Medical Center.

The suspect is described as male, is approximately 6 feet tall, has a dark complexion, is of a medium build, has black hair and a black mustache, and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and purple and white sneakers.

 

Surveillance video and a photo, obtained from the incident location, are attached.
