Members of the NYPD were at a Webster Avenue motel in the Norwood section of the Bronx for most of Tuesday, Oct. 20, after a 33-year-old woman was found dead in a 5th floor room.
According to a source at the FDNY, officials were called at 10:12 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20, to the Roadway Motel, located at 3070 Webster Avenue, between East 202nd and East 203rd Street, “for reports of a person in cardiac arrest.”
The source added, “One patient was pronounced on scene by EMS.”
The woman’s unidentified husband was observed being questioned by an official from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of the City of New York (OCME), before walking out of the hotel with two uniformed police officers.
As he walked south on Webster Avenue, in response to a question, the husband, who appeared distraught, said, “Yeah, that was my wife. I don’t know what happened, I just came back.”
The man ended the conversation, saying, “I really don’t want to talk about it. Have a good day,” before hailing a taxi.
Late on Oct. 20, the NYPD reported that a 33-year-old woman was found dead inside the location. The police official, who declined to be identified, added, “No criminality is suspected, but the cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner.”
One neighborhood source believed the couple had been staying at the motel for the past week.
A worker at the motel who answered the phone late on Oct. 20 said the woman died in a fifth-floor room, but had no additional information.
