Republican mayoral candidate, Curtis Sliwa, was struck by a yellow cab on Friday, Oct. 29 in Manhattan, while rushing to a live radio show at WABC, according to sources from his campaign.   Sliwa went ahead and completed his hour-long scheduled show interview. Later, out of an abundance of caution, his campaign postponed his afternoon schedule so that medical professionals could check on Sliwa at Lenox Hill Hospital. National Weather Service Issues Wind Advisory Effective from Oct. 29 through Oct. 30

The New York bureau of the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a wind advisory, effective Friday, Oct. 29, from 2 p.m. through Saturday, Oct. 30 at 6 a.m. East winds of between 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph are expected in across New York in Manhattan, Southern Nassau, Staten Island, The Bronx, Northern Nassau, Northern Queens, Southern Queens and Brooklyn. Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Due to recent rainfall and a saturated ground, there may be a few uprooted trees.

Williamsbridge: Two Sought following Car Theft

Alternate Side Parking to be Suspended in Early November

  Alternate Side Parking (ASP) regulations for street cleaning purposes will be suspended on Thursday, November 4, for the Diwali holiday.   ASP will also be suspended from Monday to Tuesday, Nov. 1 to Nov. 2, for All Saints’ Day and for Election Day.   Meters will remain in effect.
